Terms of Service

1. The Service

The WACMN Whirlpool Hub is a networking and collaboration platform for coastal and marine professionals. It includes profiles, discussion boards, posts, file sharing, events, and notifications.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you need parental or guardian consent.

You may have multiple accounts. Accounts must not be used for spam, harassment, or to evade restrictions.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for your account security and activity on your account.

You may register with email and password, or sign in with Google.

You may delete your account at any time via settings or by contacting us.

We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or engage in harmful activity.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you post. You grant us a license to display and use your content on the platform, including for AI-generated board summaries.

You must not post content that is illegal, abusive, infringing, harmful, spam, or impersonating others.

We may remove content that violates these terms. We are not responsible for content posted by other users.

5. Boards

Board owners may manage settings, membership, moderation, and deletion of their boards.

Public boards are visible to members with access. Private boards are limited to invited members.

6. Acceptable Use

You must not break the law, harass others, send spam, attempt unauthorized access, scrape user data, or impersonate others.

7. File Uploads

Supported formats: images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP) and documents (PDF, Word, Excel, text), up to 10MB each.

Files are stored in cloud storage and deleted when the related board or post is deleted.

8. AI Features

Board summaries use OpenAI. Board content is sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI's terms and privacy policy apply.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate. We are not liable for AI-generated output.

9. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free service.

The platform does not provide professional advice.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability is limited to fees paid in the prior 12 months or AUD $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information.

11. Third-Party Services

The platform uses third-party services including Google, AWS, OpenAI, and email providers. External links are not our responsibility.

12. Intellectual Property

The platform's design, code, and branding belong to WACMN. "WACMN" and "Whirlpool Hub" are our trademarks.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The updated date will be shown at the top. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and Australia. Disputes may be resolved in the courts of Western Australia.
